My grandmother, mother, and aunt: Edith Johnson Murphy, Catherine Murphy Harrington, and Carolyn Murphy Barfield.
My Mother and Dad met while he was in the Army, stationed in her hometown, Atlanta, during WWII. A spring tradition during my childhood was a trip from our home in Upstate New York to visit mother's large Georgia family, and our trip usually coincided with Georgia's annual explosion of azalea blossoms, like these in my grandmother's yard.
