July 27

Albuquerque, unscheduled stop.
This cute little jet was carrying me toward Wichita, Kansas (for a conference of the International Planetarium Society) from Phoenix, Arizona, when it developed engine trouble over New Mexico. We made a very steep (and unnerving) emergency landing here at the Albuquerque airport. The jet didn't make it back into service that day, and I eventually made it to Wichita via Denver.

In this post 911 world (and with your beard) I wouldn't be taking too many random photos of planes in airports. :)

I was traveling with Karl (of your "Aqualung" comment for July 29), so I wasn't the one under scrutiny.

Glad to see your browser is up and running again!

Yikes! Ironically, this sort of thing just proves how safe flying is, but hearing about it is still unnerving...!
