June 13

peep! peep! peep! peep! peep! peep! peep!
This box of 29 one-day-old Rhode Island Reds (and one White-Crested Black Polish) arrived from the Murray McMurray hatchery in Iowa by mistake. We had ordered a mixed batch of various varieties, but this gang arrived instead. The folks at the hatchery apologized, but couldn't take them back. A very kind soul hereabouts (known as "Veronique" in racs) found a new home for them at a free-range farm and transported them there. Peep peep, peep peep, her Bug went peep peep peep.
