Rosie, the big boss hen, 2003. Rosie was a big, bad Rhode Island Red, the boss of the flock until one day in 2004 when she just plain stopped. One moment, she was striding around the back yard as usual, and the next moment she just wasn't. Later, a necropsy showed that her body was riddled with tumors. What a tough bird.Location: Ft.
